Questions
How is engagement rate calculated?
By followers: (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ followers × 100. By views: the same interactions ÷ views × 100. Use averages over the same set of recent posts.
Which one should I use?
Engagement by followers is the common benchmark. Engagement by views is fairer for platforms like TikTok, where reach does not depend on follower count.
